Blot rules, in short
Blot is the Armenian take on Belote (also known as Bazar Blot): a strict trump card ranking, bold declarations, and stacked points decide the winner. Here is the essential rulebook before you sit at a table.
Trump card ranking
In trump, the Jack is strongest, followed by the 9, Ace, 10, King, Queen, then the 8 and 7. In the other three suits the order is classic: Ace, 10, King, Queen, Jack, then the small cards.
Calling trump
Each round, players take turns deciding whether to take the revealed trump or propose another suit. Whoever calls trump is responsible for collecting the majority of points for their team.
Declarations (Belote, Tierce, "50")
King and Queen of trump form "Belote-Rebelote", worth 20 points. Three consecutive cards of one suit make a Tierce (20); four in a row is worth 50, five worth 100 — the name is just the score. Four of a kind (say, four Jacks) can be worth up to 200.
Capot: a clean sweep
If one team takes every trick in a round, they score a Capot — a large bonus that can swing the whole game.
How the winner is decided
Points add up round by round until one team reaches the target score. A total of 162 points is split every round, including the last-trick bonus.
